Himendhoo Family health section was opened on 06th January 1982 in island office .in 8th Januaray 1997 health post was build and start to give services.


Health care in himendhoo is provided by 2 Family Health Workers and 2 Foolhuma (trained traditional birth attendant). Latter in 22nd march 2004 health post was change as a health ceneter,and started services by doctor ,staff nurse and Interpreter.

• Standard of living and Economic status.

General living standard of himendhoo is good. Most of the islands is working population is involved in tertiary industry. There are 39 dhoni but 2 fishing boats do regular fishing. Most of the houses were constructed with cement and limestone.

• Education

Himendhoo School was opened at 23rd march 1970. Medium of teaching is English. Standard of teaching is O’ level. number of students studying Himendhoo school is 101.
