Health Service in maalos started only a family health worker by means of Family Health Section in Island office in 1980.

A health post funded by the government I addition of community it was opened on 17 march 2007. Health care in maalos is proving by a community Health Workers and a 2 Foolhuma (trained traditional birth attendant).

• Standard of living and Economic status.

The main occupation of the people of maalos is fishing. In addition to this a good number of people are engaged in work in Male', resorts and office employment. The island has 5 mechanised fishing vessels, some times fishing which travel to Male for cargo and passenger lifting. It has 2 retail shops.
