Health Service in mathiveri started only a family health worker by means of Family Health Section in Island office in 06 June 1980.

A health post funded by the government addition of community it was opened on 09 January 1998.in 1st june 2007 health center was opened funded by German red cross .

Health services in Mathiveri is providing by a community health supervisor, doctor, nurse, two family health workers and fulumaa (trained traditional birth attendant)

• Standard of living and Economic status.

The main occupation of the people of mathiveri is fishing. In addition to this a good number of people are engaged in work in Male', resorts and office employment. The island has 3 mechanized fishing vessels, sometimes fishing boat which travel to Male for cargo and passenger lifting. It has 7 retail shops.

• Education

Mathiveri School which is in mathiveri was opened at 31st of July 1992. Medium of teaching is English. Standard of teaching is O’ level. Literacy rate of mathiveri is 100%. And parents are investing much on there children education.
