A 16.5 hectors of land area of this island is the capital of North Ari Atoll. Administratively it is part of the North Ari Atoll division. The population by end of the year 2010 January was 1002. Offices - island office, atoll office, atoll education centre, atoll hospital, police station, family and children service centre including two NGO’s (Jamiyyathul Uloom and Jamiyyathul Najaahu) are the key offices in this island
Employing tourist resorts nearby, tourist souvenir shopping, local trades, building constructions, pole and line and yellow fin tuna are major sources of income generations of this island.
The AA. Atoll Hospital is situated in Rasdhoo Island. This hospital is the division of ministry of health and family of Maldives government. There are seven health centres which are sections of this health facility. All these health centres are supervised by this health facility.
