Health Service in uklhas started only as a family health worker by means of Family Health Section in Island office 7th June 1982. A health post was build and opened 14th august 2004. Health care in uklhas was provided by family health Workers and a 2 Foolhuma (trained traditional birth attendant).later on that was change as health center in 1st June 2007 at the same time there was a doctor and staff nurses.

The main occupation of the people of uklhas is fishing.. The island has 07 mechanised fishing vessels, some times fishing boat travel to Male for cargo and passenger lifting. It has 05 retail shops.
